Why… just why…?

I just… Fine. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to come off the way I did.
You’re only saying that because you haven’t seen me when I wake up every morning. I’m always the first one to wake up whenever you sleep over so I always get a chance to wash my face and fix the rat’s nest that I call my hair. How about we’re both equally fantastic? Oh, you better get used to Eugene Fitzherbert. I’ll call him nothing but. Believe it or not, I’d probably keep the ring pop and never actually eat it because it would be a great memento if you ever propose to me with one, hehe. I’m just messing with you, My. But can you imagine having a relationship with a person and that’s how you’ll live together? I think it’d be so… I don’t even know what words I should use to describe it.
You didn’t come off mean or anything. I just know that we have two different stances on the matter… I still can’t help but feel like it was my fault.

Actually I think I saw you once. I went back to bed right after I woke up, but you looked beautiful even then. Nothing you can saw will change my opinion on that, Tor. Deal. I still think you’re far more fantastic though. Maybe I’ll get used to it at some point. I’ll still call him Flynn Rider though, you’ve been warned. You would, really? At some point I’m going to buy you a ring pop and just fake propose and see if you keep it. I’ve never really been one to imagine future relationships but that does sound kind of cool. Think we’d have any pets?
Tori giggled once more about Maya’s yeti comment; yet, she continued to drag her towards the door. When the tie seemed to find its way around her neck, Tori shook her head. “Fine. I’ll wear the tie.” She waited for Maya’s failed attempt to tie it to end, before tying it herself and letting it hang loosely around her neck. Still supporting the blonde, she turned on to the street and headed to the Matlin household. “Well, of course I do.” Tori shrugged, trying to keep drunk Maya happy. “You’re just drunk— and, well, I’m not sure your “sober” self would be so happy about a sleepover.”
The small blonde grinned widely and clapped her hands, well attempted to, as her companion finally agreed to wear the tie. “Yes! Now you can look even sexier than you already do” she giggled. Maya watched as Tori tied the article of clothing around her neck and grinned widely. The cellist let an arm slip around the brunette’s neck as she helped support her as they walked down the street. The drunken girl furrowed her brows at the girl’s words before shaking her head. “Silly girl I want you to sleep over!” she cried. “You’re my best friend so why wouldn’t I want you to sleep over? Sober me will be completely happy with it! So you should stay and we can watch movies and everything” the smaller girl continued as the two began to near her house.
Katie wasn’t surprised by her younger sister’s response to her suggestions about simply living a healthier lifestyle to help with her drowsiness. If her suspicions were correct and Maya did have an eating disorder, she wouldn’t change anything she was doing anyways. She knew better than anyone that ED’s caused you to control everything. Taking Katie’s suggestions would give her the control, not Maya. ”Vitamins aren’t that bad, Maya. They have gummy ones, you know,” she reiterated, knowing that her words were more than likely just falling upon deaf ears. Another roll of blue eyes occurred as the younger Matlin once again mentioned the stubbornness that the woman in the family possessed. She was sick of the younger girl using that as an excuse to explain away her actions. Sure, it was true, but she still wished that her sister told her more. Sighing, she simply decided to let everything go and her gaze fell back onto the television screen. Even when the blonde mentioned Jake, Katie was able to hold her focus, only flinching slightly. She wanted to be a role model and sitting around sobbing over some guy wasn’t going to make her point about how you shouldn’t let what others think about you affect how you feel.
Swallowing down a lump that had formed in her throat, Katie peeled her eyes off of the television screen and looked over at Maya as she spoke about missing her. The truth was, her little sister was growing up. The little girl who she used to bandage her bruised knees and hold her when she cried over misplacing her favorite doll was now becoming a young woman. Part of her regretted for a moment that she chose to move across the country because she was going to miss her growing up. Though, she knew that she needed to move on with her life. Her dream ever since she was a little girl was to get out of Toronto and she was finally getting to do that. “You know, I’ll always be just a phone call away,” the older Matlin stated, wrapping her arms around the smaller figure besides her. “I think you’ll be okay without me, you know. You’re a smart girl, Maya. You don’t need me… You’re smart enough to figure out things on your own. You’ll be fine.” Kissing the matted blonde hair on her sister’s head, Katie released her and turned her attention back to the television a brief moment before speaking again. “So, I didn’t see you in the cafeteria at lunch today. Where were you?”
Maya fiddled with the hem of her hoodie as listened to her sister speak. She nodded slowly and sighed. “I’ll think about taking them, Katie. Satisfied?” the petite girl asked glancing at the older girl for a brief moment. Her gaze drifted back off to the tv and found herself being absorbed in her thoughts once again. Part of her was worried that the older girl had begun to catch onto her eating habits as of late. The other half was rather well confident in the fact that the raven haired girl didn’t know. Still there was the fact that she’d gotten drunk and blabbed her secret to the older girl, she had vehemently denied it, but still there was a possibility that Katie knew she was speaking the truth. Before the smaller girl could get lost in her thoughts again she felt the former soccer star’s arms wrapping around her. Maya looked up at her sister and nodded slowly. “I know… but still it’s not the same as you being here with me Katnip. You have to live your own life I know” she murmured softly. The cellist found herself giggling at her sister’s next statement. “I think I’ll be in more trouble than normal without you here to cover for me and bail me out when I fuck up. If I’m smart why don’t I feel like it half the time?” the small girl murmured more to herself than anything. When she felt the older girl’s lips pressed against her head she shut her eyes and sighed. “I really will miss you though, No lie” the blonde admitted.
The virtuoso once again pulled her knees up to her chest and sighed once again as her sister released her. When Katie spoke again Maya felt her heart stop and slowly her gaze drifted from the television to raven haired girl. “W-what?” she stuttered still completely stunned by the question. The petite girl continued to stair at the former soccer star as her brain went into over drive trying to process the question she’d just been asked. “I uhh… um” she stuttered once again before looking back at the movie. “Where was I during lunch?” the blonde asked stalling for time. Honestly the younger girl had been hiding out in the girl’s bathroom hoping to avoid seeing anyone who would question why she wasn’t eating lunch. Of course the truth was one thing that she couldn’t tell the older girl. Finally an idea popped into her head and a low chuckle escaped her lips. “I was in the band room working on some lyrics for a song. I figured it would be quiet in there during lunch so I could actually think and write ya know” the youngest Matlin girl lied. “Since when do you question my whereabouts anyway?” she asked trying to take the attention off herself.

That’s not true. You know that’s not true, My.
If you tell me that, you’re gonna make my head a lot bigger, and I don’t think having a bigger head would look pretty, haha. But thank you, you’re pretty incredible yourself, ya know. Hmm, after Finding Nemo can we watch Tangled? I think a healthy dose of Eugene Fitzherbert and Maximus would be amazing! Okay, good. I’m glad to hear that. Ooh, a ring pop proposal would be so cute! But why would I have to be the one to propose? I’d clearly be the feminine one in this union! Hehe. Victoria Matlin makes me sound like I’m some sort of executive boss lady in a boring corporate office. That’s why I hate my name. Can you imagine what kind of place we’d live in? I imagine us living in a cozy apartment with a fireplace and a cute kitchen, and nothing but Disney movies stacked around the TV.
Tori… I won’t argue right now…

Please you’ll always look pretty, Tor, no matter what. Not as incredible as you are. Seriously I never know who you’re talking about at first when you say Eugene Fitzherbert. I still call him Flynn Rider. But Tangled sounds good to me. Cute and tasty. Well, yes, you are the feminine one, but for some reason I pictured you being the one proposing. But fine if I must I will do the proposing, gosh. I still think it sounds pretty to be perfectly honest, but to each her own I suppose. Now you’re picturing where we live? I’ll be sure to write it all down haha. That does sound nice though, very much so.
